| Article 1. Mission Statement.
1.1 RP Purpose.
The current "purpose" of Wraithguard is to counter Alliance attacks on the Horde, form strategies of attack and defense, discover weak points in the enemy, remain loyal to members of Wraithguard as well as to the Horde, and to find a new true purpose for the unit that will fully utilize its members' expertise in Inquisition techniques.
1.2 RP Goals.
The stated goals of Wraithguard are as follows:
1.2.1 Defend the Horde.
1.2.2 Assist other members in various endeavors.
1.2.3 Inquisition the enemy.
1.2.4 Remain loyal to the unit.
1.2.5 Scout the enemy and attack weak points.
1.2.6 Stay on the lookout for new means of income to support the unit.
1.3 Purpose
All of the roleplaying stuff is fun, but it's time to reveal the true purpose and intentions of the group. We are primarily a roleplaying guild, accepting applications from light roleplayers to the heaviest roleplayers. Wraithguard is a casual, laid-back guild whose members just want a fun time playing the game. We're a tight community, always helping each other out with quests, instances, items, and the like. We have no obligations or requirements for our members-- the guild is a resource for the players, not the other way around. That said, contributions to the guild (in any form) are encouraged.
1.4 Goals
The goals of Wraithguard, which may or may not mimic the RP goals, are as follows:
1.4.1 Have fun.
1.4.2 Help out fellow members.
1.4.3 Be a valuable resource to players, via the guild bank, acting as a pool of knowledge and help, services, friendliness, and other methods.
1.4.4 Defend against Alliance raids at levels 70+.
1.4.5 Bring back roleplaying to Kirin Tor, Horde side.
Article 2, The Body Politic
The inner mechanics of Wraithguard are not a mystery to its members, and here we explain them in full detail: how the guild functions, how we settle matters, how we cohere as a unit, an explanation of rankings, etc.
2.1 Guild Ranks
2.1.1 A member's position in a guild is represented by that member's rank, and Wraithguard is no different. The ranks of Wraithguard, from lowest to highest, are as follows: Recruit, Private, Corporal, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, and Captain. Each successive rank comes with more privileges, as well as more responsibilities and expectations. Advancement is based on your ability to meet and succeed such expectations-- your contribution to the guild.
2.1.2 Recruitment
Thinking about joining our guild? There are a few things you should keep in mind first:
2.1.2.a As a causual guild, expect the occaissional swear word in our chat channels. You must be 18 years of age or have parent's permission before joining for this reason. We expect those who do not wish to witness such language to have their filters turned on. We will try to refrain from speaking such language via voice chat for those parents who have small children that might be listening. However, use voice chat at your own risk. We are friendly and will do our best to accomodate you, but we aren't perfect.
2.1.2.b We are a friendly, casual, roleplaying guild. If you are looking for a serious, synchronized, strict raiding guild, we may not be right for you. If you are looking for a serious, strict PvP guild, you might look somewhere else. But if you are looking for a friendly RP guild that has occaision to raid or PvP when the mood strikes us, then perhaps Wraithguard can be your home. We accept all roleplayers, from light to heavy.
2.1.2c Entry into Wraithguard is not strict. It only takes the following requirements: a friendly attitude, ability to get along well with others, respect, and a desire to roleplay (even if only a little).
2.1.3 Privileges and Responsibilities.
Every member has privileges including, but not limited to: asking other guild members for help, advice, tips, etc; relaxing in the guild channel; having fun with other members; in addition to the privileges set up for each rank.
Every member is also obliged to follow the rules of conduct set out in Article 3, Conduct and Principles; Article 4, Party Policy; and Article 5, Banking, in addition to the responsibilities set up for each rank.
2.1.3.i Recruit
Privileges: withdraw once per day from the guild vault.
Responsibilities: none.
2.1.3.ii Private
Privileges: withdraw up to three items from the vault per day, and up to 1 gold for repairs.
Responsibilities: When possible, put useful items in the guild vault. A particularly helpful thing to do to help out both the guild and yourself is to remove reagents/materials, use your profession(s) to create items, and then place some of those items back in the guild vault. This gives other members useful items to use and increases your own skill rank.
2.1.3.iii Corporal
Privileges: withdraw up to five items per day, up to 1 gold for repairs. Ability to invite others into the guild, and view Officer notes.
Responsibilities: In addition to the responsibilities of the private: Try to put items and money into the bank semi-regularly. Do a good job of staying in character at all times (except for party chat and such).
2.1.3.iv Sergeant
Privileges: withdraw up to ten items per day and up to 3 gold for repairs. View and Edit Officer notes. Participate in Officerspeak and the Champion's Hall.
Responsibilities: In addition to the responsibilities of the corporal: Be an example to others. Try to help others upon request.
2.1.3.v Staff Sergeant
Privileges: withdraw up to 15 items per day and up to 5 gold for repairs. View/Edit Officer notes, participate in Officerspeak/Champion's Hall, and promote other members.
Responsibilities: In addition to the responsibilities of the sergeant: Offer your profession services regularly (or donate mats often if you are a gatherer).
2.1.3.vi 2nd Lieutenant
Privileges: withdraw up to 20 items per day and up to 50 gold either for repairs or directly from the vault (only to be used for the betterment of the guild). Other privileges as per staff sergeant.
Responsibilities: In addition to the responsibilities of the staff sergeant: Be very trustworthy, and a definite asset to the guild. Donate regularly and try to help members out as often as possible.
2.1.3.vii 1st Lieutenant
Privileges: withdraw up to 100 items per day and up to 100 gold either directly or for repairs. Other privileges as per 2nd lieutenant.
Responsibilities: As per 2nd lieutenant.
2.1.3.viii Captain
Privileges: As the Guild Master, the Captain is unrestricted in his privileges.
Responsibilities: The Captain's responsibilities are many and far outweigh the responsibilities of others in the guild.
2.1.4 Advancing in Wraithguard is all a matter of your contribution to the guild. If you consistently exceed, not just meet, the expectations for someone of your rank, you will be promoted soon. So give a little. Donate items and coin to the guild vault, participate in guild events, make friends with guild members, offer your services, etc.
2.2 Domestic Issues
Section 2 of Article 2 details how we handle things within the guild.
2.2.1 Matters that are less important are decided by a flat vote.
2.2.2 Matters that are critical are decided on by discussion and debate. Ideally, a unanimous decision should be reached. If it is clear that a unanimous decision will not be reached when a decision needs to be made, a weighted vote will take effect. Each member will receive a number of votes equal to his/her ranking. Recruits, 1; Privates, 2; Corporals, 3; etc. In case of a tie, the decision goes to the highest ranking official involved in the debate, except in such cases where there were more than 2 items subject to vote and said official did not vote on one of the tie-making items; the decision then falls to the highest ranking official between only the top tied items voted on. In further case of tie, /roll.
2.2.3 Settling Disputes
Every family has its share of problems, and with time Wraithguard will undoubtedly cease to be an exception. We encourage disputes to be handled civilly and in the manner of a vote or debate if possible. Because disputes can vary wildly in origin and outcome, who do not have a strict set of rules to handle them but rather deal with them on a case by case basis. However, if one of the parties involved gets out of hand despite intervention, Inquisitorial methods will be employed (see Inquisition).
Article 3, Conduct and Principles
3.1 Exhibit Kindness.
Be polite and friendly to others, whether they are members of the guild or not. Remember, you don't just represent yourself, you represent Wraithguard as well.
3.2 Be above pettiness.
Do not become mean-spirited over small matters. Remember these things: a. Everyone was a "newbie" at one point; b. this is an RP server; c. you are not the only person paying to play; d. it is just a game.
3.3 Be mature.
When problems arise, handle them with all the grace you can muster. Settle disputes in a responsible manner. Give other players constructive tips on how they can play more effectively and contribute more to a group. You disrespect Wraithguard when you have nothing to offer but unconstructive, demeaning criticism.
3.4 Respect your superiors.
Others in Wraithguard hold the ranks they do for a reason. Respect their decisions and follow their leadership when appropriate. If you feel someone is abusing their rank privileges, politely let them know how you feel and/or report them to a higher authority-- there is no need to make a scene of it.
3.5 Know the Guild Policies.
Become familiar not only with our Conduct and Principles, but also our Party Policies in Article 4, and our guild vault policies in Article 5: Banking.
3.6 Make a modest effort to roleplay.
Wraithguard is not a raiding guild, progression guild, leveling guild, or PvP guild. We are an RP guild. While we are laid back, and mostly a "have fun" guild, we are still an RP guild, and as such encourage roleplaying. Remember these tips and you should be fine: use the "/say" and "/yell" channels for in-character roleplaying, and most of the other channels (party speak, guild speak, whispering, etc) for out-of-character chat.
Article 4, Party Policy
4.1 General Guidelines
4.1.1 Know your role.
Be sure everyone in the entire party is clear on what their roles are (tank, healer, DPS, or other) before entering a dungeon or tackling a group quest. Do not deviate from this role and the entire party will succeed.
4.1.2 Do not "ninja loot." Do not get greedy and roll Need for all of the uncommon and rare items just so you can have them for your own selfish purposes. No one will group with you and you will dishonor Wraithguard.
4.2 Looting with Non-Guild Members
When partying with non-guildies, make sure you and everyone else understands the looting rules. When in doubt, ask before rolling Need for an item. With Bind on pickup items it may also be wise to ask before rolling Greed. If you are an enchanter, be sure your party members know this beforehand; it may place you further up on item priority.
4.3 Looting with Guild Members
These are the "default" guild rules for looting (when in a party full of guild members only). If you come across an item you plan on equipping and using immediately, roll Need. If you are an enchanter, roll Greed. Otherwise, Pass. If there are no enchanters in the party, roll Greed for BoPs and hold onto any BoEs and donate them to the guild vault. Note that because enchanters are given priority over others who do not need the items, they are expected to provide their services to guildies free of charge (assuming materials are provided).
Article 5, Banking
5.1 Withdrawals
Withdraw only what you can use. Do not withdraw items with the sole intent of selling them.
5.2 Money
Try to donate back whatever you withdraw for repairs. If you can withdraw directly, only do so for the betterment of the guild (a new vault tab, a new tabard design, etc). Remember that the vault money isn't just yours-- it's everyone's.
5.3 Contribution
The higher your rank, the more you are expected to contribute to the guild vault. This is in part because you are allowed to withdraw more. If you are taking items for a profession, such as Leatherworking or Tailoring, in order to increase your skill, then return the favor by replacing the materials you've taken with items you've crafted for other guildies to use. If you come across items in your travels that you cannot use, then donate them to the vault for others to use. Do not simply take without contributing in some way (even if it isn't immediate). If everyone does their part, the guild vault should be a wealthy resource for everyone.
Article 6, Inquisition
Certain high-ranking members of Wraithguard have the ability to demote lower-ranking members. We are under no obligation to give you warning before demotion, so pay very close attention to the guild rules and guidelines.
Being removed from the guild is a much more serious matter for us (although we take demotion very seriously as well) and we will keep it as a last resort. Only the highest of the high-ranking members have this ability, and must unanimously decide to remove a member (or have excellent reason for doing so) before pushing the button. However, do not think you are safe. If you are hurting the reputation of the guild or making the guild less fun for everyone, do not expect to be welcome.
Disobey these rules at your own risk. You may be Inquisitioned. | |
