http://www.wowwiki.com/Timeline_%28from_official_site%29 <--Timeline of Azeroth

It is currently the year 26 I think (26 or later-- TBC is after WoW, which is the year 25).

The Scourge is formed in the year 18. In the year 19, the high elves (ancestors of the blood elves) retract their alleigance to the Alliance.

Year 20, Lordaeron and Quel'Thalas (high elf kingdom) both fall to the Scourge.

Year 21, high elves fight off the Scourge and call themselves blood elves. Also, the Forsaken emerge and capture Lordaeron from the Scourge.

So, Raz would have been a human (or human-like mortal?) until at least year 20 (although it could be much more recent). From then he'd have been Scourge until he was freed and became Forsaken, no earlier than year 21 (although that could also be much more recent).

I didn't realize all this shit was recent. I was thinking that since Raz is undead and Bran is an elf, and therefore both are long-living, that they could have had a 100+ years past together. But even though Raz is essentially immortal, he still couldn't be ancient. To even be close he'd have to have been very old when the Scourge scoured Lordaeron (or Dalaran or somewhere else). Bran would have had to have known Raz as a baby for them to have known each other 100+ years LOL.

WoW was released in Nov. '04. So if WoW time correlates with real-world time, then TBC happened in Year 28 (WoW-time) and it is currently Year 29.

TBC was released Jan. '07

Bran could have known raz back when he was human, maybe they were childhood friends or something, then Raz was lost to the scourge then reawakened as the forsaken.

Well I was thinking that Raz saved Bran's life somehow, and that's why Branigan owes him his life and is 1st Lieutenant of Wraithguard.

They couldn't really have been childhood friends, because Branigan is a little over 400 years old (I've already told this to a few people in-game although I haven't given a specific age yet). Even if Razael was very old, 100 years old or so, before he became Scourge (I think all Forsaken were Scourge first-- if not, then MOST of them were), Branigan would have been around 300 years old when Raz was born.

Actually I just realized something. Raz could have been resurrected as Scourge. Meaning he could have been alive even thousands of years ago-- he would just have been genuinely dead most of that time until Year 21-29. The Burning Legion didn't take just the newly dead (into the Scourge), they reanimated the bodies of those buried under the ground as well.

Although, thinking about it again, he couldn't have been dead for TOO long, or else his body would have been completely decomposed. (Once reanimated the bodies stop decomposing but reanimation doesn't "fix" what happened in the grave.)

So how long do dead bodies "last"?

i think they are locked into the form when they become scourge, who knows maybe Raz was a scourge long before the Burning Legion, or the equivalent of the scourge. im sure there were zombies prior to the burning legion. Anyways he could have been scourge for a long time wandering Strathlome or something and was released as forsaken.

Hmm. Well it's not like they HAVE to have known each other for forever. Any ideas on why Branigan joins Wraithguard? A favor to Sylvanus?
